Agência 35, a workspace designed by the architecture office Galeria Arquitectos, is an example of how the future of workspaces might look like in the post-pandemic era. Founded just before the start of the pandemic, the project was developed in early 2020, and its design was inspired by the irregular geometry of a shed with a metal structure and glass enclosure, located next to a beautiful square. The founding partner of Agência 35, Astério Segundo, never gave up on the project, despite the uncertainties of the world’s future.

To create a more collaborative and flexible workspace, the architects incorporated highly integrated landscaping into the agency, which transforms the internal area of the agency into a continuation of the tree-lined area of the square. The side and front gardens provide a very pleasant environment that allows people to work in less obvious places than the tables. Meetings can be held outdoors over coffee, which is a very pleasant experience. According to Fernanda, the architect of the studio, "the great differential of the agency is the external area."

In the post-pandemic world, architecture and design play a key role in creating safe and healthy workspaces. According to Fernanda, "architecture is key when translating customer desires into spaces. We always have to think about the spaces as we would like if we were users." The design of workspaces must take into account the new needs of workers in the post-pandemic era, such as the need for more meeting spaces and common areas.

As a result of the pandemic and other factors, Fernanda anticipates that the design of workspaces will change in the coming years. According to her, "we have seen a lot of demand for meeting spaces. People who want to concentrate and spend hours in front of the computer prefer to stay at home in a home office. However, everyone misses the common spaces, during coffee and meetings. These must be the new collective work environments."
