Aflalo/Gasperini is a Brazilian architecture office that celebrated 60 years of practice in 2022, making it one of the oldest offices in São Paulo. Continuing our journey into interactive videos, where you, as a viewer, can select various paths in the narrative based on your interests, we invite you to join us on a unique tribute to this renowned architecture firm. Together, let us embark on a special tour of the office's residential projects!

While the studio is best known for its corporate projects, the firm has also designed some impressive residential projects. These projects are characterized by a focus on the interplay between full and empty space, as well as an emphasis on creating spaces that are functional, innovative, and unique.

Felipe Aflalo, one of the Managing Partners of the firm, notes that the firm's approach to residential design begins with an emphasis on creating space. In an urban environment, he notes, the creation of space is essential to achieving the best perspectives. This means that the firm begins by projecting the void, the distance between the project and neighboring buildings, in order to create a counterpoint between full and empty space that is critical to the firm's approach to residential design.

Grazzieli Gomes Rocha, also Managing Partner of the firm, notes that the firm seeks to create a horizon through the voids that embrace its projects. This horizon can take many forms, including the heights between towers or the voids between buildings. Breathing, she notes, is the feeling of integration from the inside out, and it is through careful consideration of each lot that the firm is able to transform it into a unique project. The diversity of typologies the firm works with allows it to better understand and organize space, which in turn enables the firm to bring more innovation, technology, and design to residential buildings.

Roberto Bratke, from Bratke Engineering, notes that what sets Aflalo/Gasperini apart is its life experience and understanding of the dynamics of family environments. The firm's architects take great care to create environments that are not only functional but also promote warmth and comfort. They pay attention to details such as sound and view to create quality environments that are tailored to the needs of each client.

Aflalo/Gasperini has cemented its position as a leading architecture firm in Brazil by consistently delivering innovative and functional designs for 60 years. As the firm continues to push the boundaries of architecture, we can expect to see more groundbreaking projects that embody the principles of innovation, functionality, and unique design for which Aflalo/Gasperini is known.
