Section Haus: a fine balance between structural clarity and aesthetic beauty.

The Section Haus is a contemporary reflection of Brasília's iconic architectural DNA. Drawing its inspiration from the raw, brutalist structures which epitomize the capital's cityscape, the house stands as a testament to the fine balance between structural clarity and aesthetic beauty.
Niemeyer's architectural creations in Brasília are characterized by their sweeping curves, bold forms, and innovative use of reinforced concrete — a stark departure from the vertical skyscrapers of contemporary cities.
Designed meticulously across a terraced plot, the residence pays homage to the city's landscape with its triad of blocks: a lofty Social Area, a central Services zone, and a secluded Intimate Area. This trifecta, rooted in Cartesian principles, is grounded by a series of internal and external precast pillars. United under an inverted slab, they mirror the towering edifices and broad expanses found in Brasília. The design's malleability is especially remarkable, granting inhabitants the liberty to mold their internal spaces.
The house's character is prominently conveyed by concrete structural elements. The conscious decision to maintain them in their raw state is a nod to the intrinsic architectural transparency, revealing the foundational ideas behind the house's creation. As one traverses the interior, these structural components are intentionally unveiled, offering unusual angles that dance away from the monotony of straight lines, bestowing movement upon the spaces.
In a deliberate juxtaposition, the Social and Intimate Blocks are draped in freijó wood panels and matching floorings. This touch of warmth and comfort counterbalances the rustic brutality of the concrete, weaving an ambiance of homely coziness amidst stark surroundings. Complementing the architecture is a blend of Brazilian and international design elements. Furnishings steeped in Brazilian, Italian, Danish, and French traditions coalesce harmoniously. The walls celebrate Brazil's modernist art, honoring stalwarts like Volpi, Di Janira, Galeno, and Rubem Valentim.
Section Haus is a living, breathing canvas; an experiential lab converging design, architecture, and the indomitable spirit of Brasília.
