Architecture can have a distinct and memorable identity when spaces are designed with clear intentions and purpose. Like a well-written script, every element of a space plays a role in shaping its narrative, with certain features standing out as the protagonists. In the Aurora Apartment, PS Arquitetos brings this concept to life, designing a home that reflects both the individuality of the client and the creative strength of the studio.

The Aurora Apartment is a project with a bold and unique character, an example of PS Arquitetos' approach to design. Sarkis Semerjian, the architect behind the project, explains his vision: "You have a main storyline, and then there are the protagonists—the stronger characters that guide the plot and draw attention. You can’t have too many protagonists, but you must have a strong hero and a strong villain to create intrigue." In this apartment, specific elements were designed to act as these central characters, standing out while complementing the overall design.

One of the highlights of the apartment is the collection of custom-designed elements that contribute to its individuality. From the entrance furniture with a rope-paneled wall to the bar with box-like opening doors and the golden cooler embedded into a sideboard, these features combine functionality with striking aesthetics. "These are not just decorative elements; they have a function. They might feel like sculptures, but they serve a purpose," says Sarkis.

This focus on personalized details is a defining characteristic of PS Arquitetos’ work. Sarkis explains, "We never repeat these elements for another client. It’s common for a client to see a piece and request the same, but we always create something entirely new. This approach is time-consuming, but it ensures that each project has its own distinct personality."

The choice of materials also plays a key role in shaping the apartment's character. A striking example is the stone flooring, cut to resemble wooden planks. "It’s subtle but transformative, blending the visual familiarity of wood with the tactile elegance of stone," notes Sarkis.

The Aurora Apartment is a result of collaboration between a thoughtful client and a studio willing to explore new ideas. As Sarkis reflects, "A great project comes from the hands of a strong architect and the understanding of a thoughtful client." This partnership is what makes the Aurora Apartment a true standout in residential design.
