Architecture Hunter Awards 2024 Winners

The first edition of the Architecture Hunter Award, marked a major achievement for Architecture Hunter, founded by Amanda Ferber, as it celebrated over a decade of curating outstanding architectural projects from around the world. "We've been working on curating architectural projects globally for 11 years," Amanda reflected. "Each project is very special. Our curation has always been highly selective, with only a handful of projects published daily, so the award felt like a natural step." The award is intended to honor projects that go beyond the ordinary — those that stand out for their form, function, or purpose. “Some projects just have something extra special about them, and we wanted to celebrate that,” Amanda explained.

The response to the inaugural event was better than anticipated, Amanda noted, with participants representing over 50 nationalities. "We didn’t know what to expect, whether people would participate or embrace the idea," she admitted. "It was a pleasant surprise to see the impressive number of participants and the diversity of nationalities." The quality of submissions also impressed the jury, who faced a tough task in evaluating entries. "We were a bit concerned, wondering if the submissions would match the quality of our curated projects," Amanda said. "But we were delighted to find so many outstanding projects. Sometimes, it was even challenging to compare projects because they were exceptional in different ways."

The award introduced a series of honorable mentions for projects that made unique contributions. "We didn’t initially plan on categories like ‘social architecture,’ but we couldn't let some incredible projects go unrecognized," she shared. As this was the first edition, projects completed within the last ten years were allowed to participate, resulting in more honorable mentions than they anticipate for future editions.

Looking forward, Amanda is optimistic about the award’s growing influence. “We want to reach even more people, across more nationalities, and build the award as a true mark of honor for participants and winners,” she said. Upcoming editions will include new categories that reflect evolving trends in architecture, with a special focus on opportunities for architecture students. “We’re planning exciting things for students,” Amanda revealed, “and we hope the award will open doors for winners and serve as a source of inspiration for our audience.” The Architecture Hunter Award is set to become an essential platform for recognizing excellence and innovation in architecture worldwide.
